Central Paris / airport-side split. If airport-side, protect the CDG transfer before committing to dinner.
- CDG by RER B: Use the Paris Region Airports ticket for CDG. In 2026 it is EUR 14 each way and loads onto a Navigo Easy pass or phone; the normal Metro-Train-RER ticket does not cover CDG.
- RER timing: Plan roughly 35-50 minutes between CDG and central Paris after you reach the airport station, then add terminal walking, ticket/app setup, and any RER B disruption buffer.
- CDG taxi: Official Paris taxi flat rates are EUR 56 to/from the Right Bank and EUR 65 to/from the Left Bank in 2026. Use the official taxi rank or a known taxi app; avoid arrivals-hall offers.
- Rideshare: Useful late, tired, or with luggage, but CDG pricing can swing. Compare against the taxi flat rate before accepting.
- Metro/RER city core: The 2026 Metro-Train-RER ticket is EUR 2.55 and covers metro, train, and RER inside Ile-de-France except airports. Load it on Navigo Easy or phone; do not assume a bank-card tap works like London.
- Day-pass logic: A Navigo one-day pass can be good for a heavy city day, but it excludes airports. For a normal bakery + museum + dinner layover, a few single tickets usually beat a pass.
- Bonjour rule: Open every shop/cafe interaction with bonjour.
- Cash: Paris is mostly card and Apple/Google Pay. Carry EUR 40-80 if you want markets, small bakeries, tips, or backup; do not carry the whole day in cash.
eSIM recommended for fast maps and rideshare access.
