About The Layover

I'm Trevor. You might know me as Mr. Admin.

I started keeping city notes in 2012, after a layover in Paris early in my flying career. I'd taken the job to eat my way around the world. But finding somewhere worth going could take more energy than the outing itself.

So I started a Facebook group for Emirates crew and kept my own files on the cities I landed in. People brought the things they knew: a good meal, a useful transport tip, a place worth the walk.

I eventually hung up my wings. I never stopped keeping notes.

What I want this to help you do

Pick something worth leaving the room for, with enough detail to decide whether it suits your time, energy and budget. Some days that's a neighbourhood to explore. Some days it's one good meal and more sleep.

Choose an outing for your time and energy, save it for later, or send it to your crew. The city guides bring together food, culture, photo spots, nightlife and quieter options. Outing times cover the stops; check your journeys and leave room to get back.
